So I just looked up when Christmas used to end and it was the middle of February originally. It was a two month long period that seems to, in modern times, have been moved to October to December instead of December to February. Unsurprising really, because consumerism has us thinking it's all about gifts!

In summary, watch away! Get well soon.

I think you are being unreasonable 😄😄

I got the christmas ick on boxing day and have purged myself and my home of any and all ties to christmas - it's all about failing at my new years resolutions now!

In all seriousness, if it makes you happy, enjoy it

ThePoliteLion · 03/01/2025 21:03

I watch Christmas films etc until Twelfth Night, which is (I think) 6th Jan. But you do what makes you happy. I love Christmas films.

Theraffarian · 03/01/2025 21:32

Well I might not be the voice of reason you need , as today I bought three cheap books in the works sale to take away in the summer and two of them are Christmas based stories !

MarioLink · 03/01/2025 21:32

Fine till January 6th.

Figgygal · 03/01/2025 21:34

Nope I can't bring myself to watch really christmassy things after 27th just in the same way I can't watch them in July

Pandasnacks · 03/01/2025 21:34

It’s still Christmas until the 12th night

Gliblet · 03/01/2025 21:35

Go with it. I've had this manky cold/congestion/eye pain/exhaustion thing since Christmas night (it landed about 2 hours after Christmas dinner) and my mental level at the moment is reruns of things I already know the plot to, or Carry On films. Do anything that makes you feel better.

HaddyAbrams · 03/01/2025 21:37

It's still Christmas so of course YANBU

shadesofwinter · 03/01/2025 21:38

I'm normally over Christmas by this point but this year I'm hanging on for a bit longer. As apparently are a lot of our neighbourhood, judging by the lights still on display. Enjoy!

BCBird · 03/01/2025 21:39

Do as you please. Ux be tempted to munch on mince pies at the same time🙄😄

Tautumnal · 03/01/2025 21:45

The tree is still up here till Sunday and I'm still grazing on cheese... I'd say go for it.

marypoppinsreturns · 03/01/2025 21:46

My favourite Christmas film is The Holiday (mostly for Jude Law, though I don't especially like him in anything else), and I've not managed to watch it yet this year. Will try to fit it in this weekend! So def still ok to be watching a Christmas film!
