I went to hairdressers yesterday and the lady who cut my hair has a severe nut allergy and was worried about going abroad because she wondered how thorough other countries are about cleanliness woth cross contamination.

AIBU to ask you wise mumsnetters if you have any countries aside from USA, Australia and New Zealand (according to google) that are safe for her to go to please?

I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure and never had issues finding something to eat or a restaurant to accommodate.

Decent hotels in Europe have food labels on pretty much everything indicative of allergens.

It's not that hard.

Appreciate your reply but she was very worried as it's not the kind where her face just swells up it's a matter of life or death.

Yes op me too, I have a severe nut allergy. It's never stopped me.

I mean I wouldn't go eat street food in Thailand for example, but decent hotels and restaurants are really careful nowadays.

Tell her to start with an all inclusive holiday somewhere like Italy or Spain, it will be absolutely fine.

Places I've been fine...Atlantico Mare Cyprus, Pine Cliffs Portugal, any Ikos, Sani or other 5 star hotels.

Caribbean also fine.
