Extreme pain in ear/throat when coughing

I’ve had this cough / blocked nose for just over a week now.
It started as a tickle in my throat that turned into a cough with a slight rattle sound when breathing out.
I’ve still got the cough but the rattle seems to have gone away.
However when I cough / swallow , but more when I cough I get this horrendous pain in my ear and throat on one side. My nose is also blocked on the same side. My ears are ringing and really fuzzy so I can hardly hear.
I’m Taking round the clock ibuprofen and paracetamol- each time I have the urge to cough I have to brace myself as it’s so painful.

I’m away at the moment so I don’t have my GP near by. Is it worth calling 111?

Gosh yes, ring. They'll probably refer to a local walk in clinic or similar .
Sounds awful, and worse when you're staying away!
Maybe antibiotics needed.
Thinking about it , it would be good if you can get your throat swabbed and the correct AB's diagnosed.
I'm a long term MRSA carrier and only some ABs work.
