Christmas contact with LC parent

LC with my mother as fed up with her complete lack of interest in me and passive aggressive comments when we do meet. I see her only at family occasions when I make a point of being civil. Previous years at Christmas she has delivered presents for my children to my ILs rather than trouble herself arranging to drive 15 mins to mine (she has very active social life which is why I don't drop to her and fed up with the rejection tbh).

This year she messaged to see if we were around at any point for her to drop presents over and I thought I would make an effort, offer to cook her lunch etc. She has just left and after a very stilted lunch, full of pass aggressive comments, I am left feeling rubbish. Why do I let her do this to me?

Yes I offered over WhatsApp and she agreed (although had to leave at 2 for indoor bowls which was actually a good thing because then I knew it would be short visit) Every time I see her, I psych myself up to ignore her digs, her complete disinterest in me or my children, etc) and every time I feel rubbish and worthless after seeing her
