People who shop on Boxing Day

I believe that they have never worked in retail.

Most retailers that are open don’t pay much extra or anything extra for BD. Plus a lot of retail workers use public transport to go to work. In many places, including where I live, there are no buses at all BD. So it’s either a getting a relative to drive them there and back. Or taxis which are double rate for some places.

If you decide to shop on BD, please do not say to the staff something on the lines of “it’s a disgrace that the shop is open today”, “did you enjoy your one day off?”. As one it pisses them off and two, you are causing the shops to stay open!

Looked to discover that Next are not opening on BD. Wonder how many people will drive to Next thinking that they will open at 5am?

I have to work B Day (IKEA) and it's the same rate of (low) pay.
We are meant to be working alternate ones but the rules have changed so I've done a few in a row now, hence will be looking for a new job (not that that is the sole reason)
I have some co workers that like working it, saying there obviously is a need or the store wouldn't be rammed...

I certainly HATE people asking how my Christmas was. Especially as our bonus was cancelled last minute too!
