Not to one another, to those around them.

I hate it that I do it and I don’t verbalise it - I don’t say ‘DS, suchabody is doing this’ but I do notice and I do find it a bit stressful if we seem to be miles behind … AIBU?

Behind what? There’s no magic timeline they have to rigidly adhere to. Children develop in different areas at their own pace. I’m sure that if there was an areas they were less developed in, there will be another area they are advanced in. We all have different talents and abilities. Focus on their strengths and develop those. How many times have we heard the stories about kids at school who were tipped for greatness who end up alcoholics or complete failures in life? They’re kids. They don’t need to be the best or ahead or whatever. They need to be happy, well rounded, self confident individuals who define their own success in life. Have a read of the book, “Changing Our Minds” by Dr Naomi Fisher and see how children learn and develop in different way. No one way is the absolute.
