To not want crap in my room?

First I must say I am moving out of my mother and stepfathers house in just under 2 month but she is doing my head in! I pay 1/5th of my monthly wage to my mother for staying here. She thinks she can put whatever she likes in my room without asking me and if I don't like it and move it, then god help me, she goes mad, but I am so sick of it!

Today she has decided to put a nasty floral rug in my room which is really stupid. It will get filthy in no time with the guinea pig living in my room and to be quite honest - it is ghastly! I objected to it which was met with "you dare remove it". I just put it on the landing while I vacuumed my room and she began kicking off already. I just feel that seeing as I pay to live here, I have a right to say what goes in my room. AIBU?

YANBU

However, from bitter personal experience it is like entering a parrallel, third dimension living with parents where normality never visits...

Went home with both DCs in Sept and was still treated as if I had just got out of nappies...

Lol nagapie. Nice to know it's just not my crazy mother and stepfather who is like this then!

Ah, I read the title as "not to want to crap in my room"

southeastastra · 01/05/2008 17:19

lola you are funny, you share your room with a guinea pig?

stripeymama · 01/05/2008 17:20

A guinea pig? In your bedroom?

That must create lots of, er, crap.

Anyway just nod and smile at your mum and then move the tat out when she's not looking. Hide it.

LolaTheShowgirl · 01/05/2008 17:22

Yea She made me put the guinea pig in my room. It's awful and keeps me up all night coz he's nocturnal, then I have to prop myself up againt my workstation at work the next day and the smell...it's not his fault the poor thing, but the smell makes me ill. She might as well put every other freaking thing in my room that I don't want while she is at it.
