Everything of any decent quality is so so over priced. You can't find a bargain anymore. £17 for 9 cards in JL, granted JL as always been expensive but on what planet is anyone paying that..actually just seen they've been reduced but still £11

Depends where you shop? You can pay as much or little as you want.

MereDintofPandiculation · 19/12/2024 19:37

Well, if you haven’t written your cards yet, they’ll need to go by first class post, and that will be noticeably more than £11 for 9 cards.

I noticed WH Smiths were selling boxed cards for £2 today - presume people aren't buying as many cards this year as that is fairly cheap for WH Smiths (and there was a lot on the shelves)

Too late to order on line,

Shop our 2024 Charity Christmas Cards! – Charity Cards and Gifts

but they have pop up shops too (list on the website) so if you can get to one there's still just time to get them in the post

Lovely cards, high %age to charity and not as expensive as the ones you mention in the opening post.

I got cards directly from a charity this year - IIRC £6.99 for 10

I couldn't buy any boxed card in Sainsbury's earlier this week! I assumed they hadn't stocked as many as less are being sent.
I just feel bad when I receive a few and I don't have any to reciprocate 🫣

Bloodylovecheese · 19/12/2024 19:46

Whistlefish cards are beautiful and 20 for £10

SagittariusDwarf · 19/12/2024 19:47

I spent £3 for 10 at my local charity shop

temperance81 · 19/12/2024 19:49

20 For £5 Amazon. I've sent 11. I hate cards but dp's family insist on sending cards for every occasion!

SleepingisanArt · 19/12/2024 19:51

Yesterday Morrisons had a pack of 5 large pop up cards reduced to 75p. They are beautiful and I bought several different designs for next year! (They are also charity cards.) Saw lots of cards all reduced but even at full price they were good value.

purser25 · 19/12/2024 19:51

I always buy them half price the charity shop after Christmas then put them away

the80sweregreat · 19/12/2024 19:55

Card factory had some which were quite cheap and good value , boxes for under two pounds

Yes - I was going to say, cheaper than the stamps to post them nowadays!

dementedpixie · 19/12/2024 19:58

I bought some in card factory today. 1 pack for 99p and the other for £1.99

I do that.
Sadly I can never seem to find them in time. 🤫

losingweightandgainingconfidence · 19/12/2024 20:07

£2 for 16 or 18 in care factory (can't remember!) decent quality and nice design

Judellie · 19/12/2024 20:16

Card factory had buy one get one free on a box of 40 for £1.99 because there was some issue and you might not get enough envelopes. So far so good tho, still need to do the neighbours

roses2 · 19/12/2024 20:26

My local Oxfam had lots and lots of M&S cards pack of 8 for 50p last week.

Funnywonder · 19/12/2024 20:41

We have been sending fewer every year (grand total of one this year), so have quite a few cards built up that were left over and never used. I haven't bought a Christmas card in maybe five years. But I had to post an emergency birthday card yesterday and nearly fainted at £1.65 for a first class stamp. I knew there had been a lot of grumbling about the latest price rise, but bloody hell.

the80sweregreat · 19/12/2024 21:18

When the stamps are more than the cards, then people don't bother and eventually it'll die out completely I suppose
Can't blame people
