Might this help? See where you are today, work out and try again in a week, or a month: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2024/dec/19/fit-test-strength-balance-mobility-plank-body I believe in you! My top tip for diet is to brush my teeth straight after dinner, to stop me from snacking in the evening. Takes willpower, though... But if I do, I'm too lazy to snack only to have to brush them again.

How fit are you? 11 ways to easily test your strength, balance and mobility – and make them all better

Can you touch your toes, get up from a chair using just one leg, hold a plank for 30 seconds? If you want to take care of your body, the first step is to take stock of it

Hey - it’s the solstice on Saturday - great day for putting your overhaul into action but with realistic and manageable steps. I’m starting intermittent fasting and homebased yoga to build strength. I’m going to log progress in a notebook - is this something that you could maybe do too?

Tell yourself you can stick to the diet/exercise for one week - and then give yourself Christmas Day/Boxing Day off before getting back on it again.

Remind yourself that it would be nice not to spend the next fortnight stuffing your face and feeling shit by Jan 2.

Get ahead of the curve! Do a bit now, so that by the New Year you don't feel completely bloated.

This is very good advice I think ! Having an off switch - so doing it for one week - helps one stick to it I think 🙌

So, have you managed to get any fitness done since yesterday? I did 15 mins of yoga this morning (Youtube). I also had chocolate just now, so no bragging rights... (Feel free to tell me to eff off)

I've been having sessions with a pt and only recently focused more on my diet I was really dubious about using my fitness pal but she said just try it and see what your macros look like you should be aiming for 30% protein if you want to see some weight loss don't look at carbs or fat and really don't focus too much on the calories...
I was sceptible however have increased my protein and have lost half a stone in two months, over Xmas I'm going to try yo keep my protein intake high but not be manic about it and see how I get on but I would really advise getting more protein!
