Aquarius1234 · 17/12/2024 22:36

I literally started last week. Then gave up for a few days.
Done a little online.
I'm single no kids and I just can't get excited like I used to.

I’ve not done much. Am actually
going to smash out a load tonight online.
just cba, have no enthusiasm at all despite loving Christmas and being so excited to finish work on Friday for 2 lovely
weeks off!

I’m the same. Got grown up kids and respective partners that have been useless at saying what they want, so they’ve got maybe 2 presents each plus some chocolates. Tbf, I struggled to think of anything I want.
I have no decorations up yet and think I’m not going to bother with a tree, not that there are any decent real ones left. The shops are packing away all the Christmas stuff now anyway, which is fair enough as it’s been out since September.

Ha yeh bit early to be getting rid. Didn't people used to wait till about now back in the day.?
I couldn't find any Christmas cards earlier...
I can't be bothered to put any decorations up.. but If relatives insists on coming round my place one day, I'll have to!
I don't think it's miserable to not care if you live alone and prefer to visit other people.

I was like this last year so decided to get ahead of myself and created an Amazon wish list, throughout the year I added to it whenever I was in the right kind of mood, so I had a big long list of stuff all the different people I buy for would like, notes on each item so I knew who it was for.

Worked brilliantly when I realised last week that somehow it was December and I was running out of time, I sat down for 20 mins hitting 'add to basket' and it's all been delivered over the last few days. Now I just to wrap the lot, think I might just gift bag it all 😂

MagpiePi · 18/12/2024 08:58

@InfoSecInTheCity I have a running list during the year too, but if it’s things for me then I generally want or need them at the time, or it’s quite expensive things that I feel are too much for the kids to buy. I also have a birthday not long before Xmas, so that eats up some of my ideas. 🙄
I end up buying mainly clothes for the kids, but they buy them selves the same kinds of things during the year, so not very exciting.
