To do the simplest Christmas I can?

I am pregnant, just finishing my first trimester. I have 2DC that are Santa believing age. I have got all their gifts and wrapped etc but don't have a lot of sweets- each have gold coins, big smarties tube and small selection box. They usually have more but I just don't have the energy. Skipping stockings for me and DH because I can't be bothered (he doesn't mind). I'm just so tired all of the time. AIBU to just do it as simply as possible this year?

Sounds plenty to me, and you aren't solely responsible for the Christmas magic, your DH needs to do his share.

Are you staying home for Christmas and cooking?

greenpumpkinss · 15/12/2024 13:04

@jeaux90 we are but DH does the cooking.

Be gentle on yourself. I wonder if getting shopping online would help but I have no idea if spaces are all booked up. I think you have done amazingly well already. Merry Christmas.

How are you letting everyone down? By having fewer sweets and by not having a stocking for you and dh? Neither of those things sound remotely like a big deal tbh!

A lot of women feel this way at Christmas.

Keep it simple… You have done enough!

mickandrorty · 15/12/2024 15:41

We have never done stockings for adults but Santa brings the stockings in our house and presents are from us. We also do something simple like curry for dinner as its quick and easy and frees up more time to be with the kids.

Sounds completely fine.

Do a supermarket delivery and get everything you need, go ready prepped for everything you can

That’s plenty of sweets.
