Can anyone reassure? INFLUENZA A.

My 4 year old has Influenza A. I tested her for Covid and Flu A&B via home swabs due to my mum caring for my elderly and VERY vulnerable Nan.

She has tested positive for Flu A. Although the only symptoms she has is a raised temp ( currently back to normal at 36.6 with calpol ) and a slightly runny nose. If I hadn’t tested, I would’ve assumed common cold.

This has put the fear of god into me as my little boy ( her brother ) is 8.5 months, 7 months corrected ( born at 34 weeks with respiratory distress )

Thankfully he has no long lasting affects of his birth, was home from NICU at 36 weeks and hasn’t required any help since. Which is extremely lucky I’m aware.

I just want to know IF he did get it, there’s a chance it would be no more than a common cold like his sister. The thought of admission has terrified me.

Anyone had a similar story with Influenza A and their child NOT needing admission.

My anxiety is through the roof - I suffer with health anxiety and currently having therapy so I don't need to be told.

we have separated the children until she’s symptomless xxx

Flu A is generally mild in children, but there's no way to predict on an individual basis. Odds, are, though, that they will be fine.
