Probiotics seem to be stopping me from getting ill

It’s the only thing I’m doing differently lately. I’ve been taking probiotics for a while (a vitamin that I swallow every morning) and eating Kefir yogurt too. I hope I don’t jinx myself but my DH is unwell at the moment with a sore throat/cold type symptoms and I have been in contact with people who are unwell lately - usually I catch everything going, but so far I’ve not been unwell at all this season touch wood

I also take vitamin D3, B6 and magnesium.

Or it's just a coincidence.

MuddyPawsIndoors · 13/12/2024 23:02

Might be that or it might be luck.

My DH has been the sickest I've seen him in years, but he's better now and I didn't catch it at all.

I have an auto immune condition so I'm surprised, plus all my colleagues were dropping like flies too a few weeks ago.

I think I get ill less since I've been taking probiotics. I work in a school and all around me teachers and kids have been coming down with streaming colds and covid-like symptoms for the last month and I've escaped (so far)!

Or your running an advertising campaign which will (strangely)be supported by loads of people on mumsnet agreeing with you...or not.
Btw...there is no actual credible scientific evidence that the bacteria reach your gut alive. You are literally better off shoving it up your arse...honestly, that's how every scientist has improved their gut health...shoving other people's shit up!!! Look it up

Yeah right.

That doesn't surprise me, a healthy, balanced gut is part of having a good 'constitution'. I imagine there's a knock-on effect too - if you feel good in yourself, you're more likely to be active and that has benefits too.
