prescription/pharmacy question (Scotland)

Hi hope someone can help!

does anyone know, see the slip of paper (it’s a pink/orangey colour) that comes with repeat prescriptions, is that also a list of the prescriptions that’s been ordered by the GP to be dispensed by the pharmacy? I know that it’s also the slip you can hand back into your gp to order your next repeat prescription, but is it also proof of what was ordered by the GP for the prescription today?

basically there’s an item missing from my prescription that I collected today, and I’m wondering if it was the pharmacist who didn’t dispense it or if it was the doctor who didn’t issue it for whatever reason. It’s listed on the pink slip but I’m unsure if that’s just a generic list of my repeat prescriptions or if that actually shows what was issued by the GP

the pharmacy is closed tomorrow so won’t be able to find out until Monday annoyingly, just wondered if anyone can help in the meantime!

thanks so much in advance!

As far as I know it's just a list of what you can order on repeat.

Yellowpingu · 13/12/2024 19:21

The pink slip is everything you can order on repeat. Mine includes items I rarely order.

UncharteredWaters · 13/12/2024 19:23

It might have last issued dates on it but otherwise it’s just your repeats list.

Thanks! I’m wondering if possibly the doctor hasn’t prescribed it rather than the pharmacy accidentally leaving it out/forgetting about it. Annoyingly won’t be able to find out until Monday. Not a big deal just confusing

It should have last ordered dates on it, so if the items you did get have a recent date, and the missing item doesn't, then the GP hasn't issued them.

There isn’t a date on any of them, it just says at the top when it was printed, then below each medication it says how often I’m supposed to take it and the quantity x

Some GP surgeries will put the date it was last issued and then also information such as the next review date. Others just list all the items that can be ordered.

It will be a copy of what you can order on repeat prescription. Maybe you need another medication which is an "acute" one where the doctor has to okay it every time. This won't be on your repeat list.
