Invasion of privacy or not

I live in a communal block of flats.
For some reason two council workers knocked on my door this morning. I'm doing nights so was sleeping. I initially ignored them as it was just a knock and thought it was the jehovah witnesses who keep coming around.
On the 2nd knock I got out of bed and looked through the peephole, saw it was the council workers and called out I'd be a minute.
As I scrambled around for clothes one of them took it upon themselves to look through my letterbox, and saw into my home.
I opened the door as she was looking into my home, and they started talking about some useless local thing going on (why they needed to knock on my door for that is anyone's guess).
I politely asked her not to look through my letter box as it was an invasion of my privacy and she got really narky ("you can ask me what you like").

It left a really bad taste in mouth.

Would I be unreasonable to complain here?

I wouldn't bother. Presumably she saw much more once you opened your door

No. The way the door is, it opens onto my hallway where as the letterbox has a view of my front room.
