To 111 or leave until morning?

We’ve all had Influenza A. Our poor 18 month old seems to still really be suffering. His cough is awful and he seems like his chest hurts now when he’s coughing, it makes him cry/whimper. He’s entirely off his food but luckily still BFing so I know he’s getting something in him to help him fight this off.

He’s spiked a temp now when I’ve gone in to check him despite being temperature free for a couple of days. This and the total lethargy and the seemingly now very painful cough have me panicking he’s got pneumonia.

Im really anxious! I know the flu can be bad when they’re so young. Can it wait until morning, do I call 111? Not sure what they can advise me to do at this time.

Call 11now tell them the history but now lethargic with pyrexia. They will definitely ask for him to be seen. Can you get to A&E with him?
Goodluck I hope your baby gets better soon.

Call now, you know your baby best and it sounds like he's deteriorating. If nothing else, it will put your mind at rest. We've been in the same position and had to have an urgent out of hours consultation, they will be able to do anything they can do in the day. You might just have to travel further but it's worth it for him to be safe

Calpol
111.

If in doubt, call 111. There's nothing to regret in that choice - it's a win win. Baby is checked over, you feel better for it.
