Anyone else still without electricity after the storm?

Since Saturday we've had no electricity. No heating, no cooking, no shower, no hot water. They don't know when they can fix the problem because falling trees & wires in a mess.
Quite a rural community but still quite a lot of houses affected.
I'm eating raw vegetables & wondering if I'll ever have a shower again. Anyone else?

Can you go to a local swimming pool or a friend's to shower? I would happily host friends for dinner and a shower (and a night's sleep in the warm if they wanted it) in that situation!

I'm mainly impressed you have enough battery pack to still have a working phone!

Are you in Wales?

You have my sympathies- 8 days without power here post Arwen.

Has there been any contact from the supplier yet? (Actual grid provider, not the ones you pay the bill to) After day 5 they told us they would pay got a hotel. We'd already had to put DH in a hotel as he's a cpap user and they did pay for that. They also (eventually) paid for laundry, taxis to DH's hotel etc

Hope you get back on soon!

Have you got no Travelodge or Premier Inn nearby?

Just today I called them & they picked up straight away to my surprise. They said that they'd refund for hot meals but it's 30 minutes to the shops from here & we'd just got back!
Tomorrow we'll take advantage of that, could do with a hot meal,

Nooo! About half hour to the shops but road closures are a nightmare due to falling trees.
A couple of friends have offered a space but we have pets so really tricky

I know I've been to the library to recharge & luckily have a back up battery charger for it, have to go upstairs for 4G.
It's a wonder I've not murdered my DH yet 😂
