To be upset with no flowers?

I’m signed off sick at the moment and have been for 4 weeks. I work somewhere where we send flowers/ do a collection for everything - someone only has to sneeze and an email goes round - yet from work I’ve heard radio silence. Someone else is off at the moment unwell and has had a collection for them. I know it’s a silly thing to care about really but I just feel overlooked a bit.

I think the same thing happened to me.(they knew exactly why I was off sick as they told me I wasn't able to work until I was better!)
I was also aware that they used to send flowers to other people so was slightly upset, although I wouldn't have actually wanted any flowers
they did acknowledge my birthday though so that was kind

I think it depends on the reasons as to why you and your colleague are off sick.

Your colleague recovering from an operation, for example, then it would be appropriate to send flowers. If you were off sick with stress then probably not.
