Am I being unreasonable to be precious about these boots?

Bought my first ever pair of Dr Martens (in the sale) and they’ve arrived with creases in the leather - maybe from being tried on by someone else?

My partner says it doesn’t matter as I’ll crease them anyway when wearing them. I just feel a bit disappointed

Honestly no it really wouldn't bother me at all. As soon as you wear them they will develop creases.

Flamingo68 · 07/12/2024 13:29

Wouldn’t bother me at all

TMGM · 07/12/2024 14:26

They look to me like they’ve been worn a little, or tried on a bit too vigorously and then returned, I’d send them back and order a fresh pair. If the new pair looks the same then it’s up to you if you like them enough to overlook it.

Adm1010 · 07/12/2024 14:29

I’d send these back . I understand why you are disappointed

Ablondiebutagoody · 07/12/2024 14:37

Maybe slightly disappointing but not worth the faff of sending them back. They will have tonnes more creases when you start wearing them

ColinOfficeTrolley · 07/12/2024 14:39

I bought a pair off vinted and they looked newer than them.

They've been worn.

I probably wouldn't bother sending them back but I'd be so pissed off and totally get you feeling disappointed 😞.

Dyslexiaismyskill · 07/12/2024 14:41

They've been worn before but I wouldn't see that as a bad thing, just someone else helping with breaking them in. But if it's bothering you, send them back.

QuizzicalPause · 07/12/2024 14:48

Mate that's shit I'm sorry. It's not good enough to spend that much and get someone else's cast offs.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 07/12/2024 14:51

I’d send them back as your feet may crease them differently to the previous wearer’s.

FloofPaws · 07/12/2024 14:54

I may be inclined to email the pictures and say you're a bit disappointed as it's your first pair and they're not cheap - but alas it's just what shoes do I'm afraid after a few wears

LigamentBandy · 07/12/2024 15:23

If you are not happy send them back , doc martens are poor quality now a days anyway just overpriced fashion shoes .

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 07/12/2024 15:33

I’ve heard DMs are notoriously difficult to break in, so I’d view it more as someone doing you a favour.

Fireworknight · 07/12/2024 15:34

I’d be miffed as well.

Doggymummar · 07/12/2024 15:36

Id ask for a deduction, same as if you bought the display pair in a shop

AlisonDonut · 07/12/2024 15:39

What are the soles like?

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/12/2024 15:40

If you are not happy, send them back it’s your choice. I wouldn’t if it was me. CBA with the hassle if I liked the boots as they will crease when you wear them anyway.

I can't imagine being bothered by this.
