10 years ago tonight I thought I’d die

On 5th December 2014 (a Friday) I thought I was a goner from this world - I honestly thought it was my last night on earth

I can say that ALL that matters at this time is the person /people you love. That’S ALL that goes through your mind. You hope they’ll be alright and benefit from the love you gave them

Hugs op, so true x

Photodilemmas · 05/12/2024 20:16

Wow what happened to make you feel like that. I had that feeling once when a car nearly hit me crossing the road but it was fleeting.

I was caught up in a violent situation.

I was caught up in a violent situation.

Oh wow glad you're ok, I've also been on a train near a fight once with my daughter in tow and nowhere to move it was frightening and I'm quite a tough old bird. Glad you're ok and I can see why you had time to digest that feeling and take it in. It is really all that matters in the end - all you need is love.

BlueMum16 · 05/12/2024 20:23

I'm so glad you are here and posting. I hope you have reached out and had support to deal with the situation from back them. It's never too late to seek help.

StepAwayFromGoogling · 05/12/2024 20:47

Thank you, OP. Your post has just given me the kick up the arse I need to start exiting a job that is robbing me of my mental health and time with my loved ones. I hope in 10 years I can say I put them first.

Ah you’re welcome glad my thread helped you make a decision

Dd was an unplanned homebirth. There was a point where I accepted that I was on my own and there was a possibility that me and DD were going die. All that passed through my mind was love and a a total sense of peace. When I have a "I can't fucking do it" moment I think back to that point and use the memory to get me through shit.

Op I'm glad you are still here.

elliejjtiny · 05/12/2024 21:41

I'm glad you are still here OP. I nearly died 6 months before you, along with my then newborn son. I am sat on the bottom bunkbed while my 10.5 year old is on the top bunk, trying his best not to sleep. He's talking to his toy snoopy that he's slept with since he was born.

This thread... 🥲

Wow, glad you’re safe and well 10 years on ❤️.
Interestingly, I’m sat here wondering if THIS is my last night on earth…. I suffer from ectopic heartbeats (benign apparently but scary). I’m feeling rough with a nasty cold and my diabetes is haywire but since last night my ectopic beats have gone into overdrive, the worst I’ve ever had. I keep getting breathless and lightheaded. Just googling heart attack symptoms and trying not to freak myself out (yes I do have diagnosed anxiety)(30 years of it ☹️) but I feel so unwell in my chest with these palpitations I’m getting scared.
i think I’m going to meditate and make a positive 10 year plan 🙏

Maybe you should get some medical advice, even if you just call 111. I couldn’t read and run xx

Coffeeisnecessary · 05/12/2024 23:31

Em308 I have ectopic beats too and they go mad when Im stressed, the more I think about it the worse it becomes. However if you have pain as well you should probably get some medical advice just to be sure. Sending good thoughts to all on here, must have been sobering experiences.

yohohoCrimbo · 06/12/2024 06:55

OP I'm very glad that you are still with us.

What a beautiful, moving post. It's a little snowball with monumental effect.

Vote for Classics please. Right here, right now. 💜

Please go to the hospital

If you go now, it will be fairly quiet too (if you are worried about the wait)

Thank you for all the lovely responses on this thread

Hope anyone who’s going through a difficult time right now pulls through it

@Jumell , from your name, are you a twin? (Don't have to say if you'd rather be private! Was just curious). 🙂

Loving the strength of everyone here who's pulled through a hard time. We ARE worth the effort!

And @Em308 , I hope you're better/being checked out now. 🤗

Ah no definitely not a twin !

😁 Jumelles is French for 'female twins' - and also for 'binoculars' (because they are twin telescopes, I think)...
