Just that really.

I have applied for tickets for a show and I realise it's a random draw, but just wondered how soon BBC contact you if it's successful.

Yes. We got strictly tickets. Got told about five days before I think. You still have to turn up on the day at stupid o clock and only the first however many in the queue get in as they over allocate to avoid gaps. You then have to come back again about four with a ticket they gave you that morning to get in.

it was worth it though (and I’m lucky as I only live about twenty mins from where they film so it wasn’t a big risk (the people in the queue behind us came from Newcastle).

Edited

Strictly has changed now and if you get a ticket through the ballot you are guaranteed entry. It changed last year (I think not 100%).

Thanks for the replies.

it's interesting about having to arrive early. I presumed a ticket meant a guaranteed seat. I had roughly planned to visit some certain specialist shops in the area and then rock up to the show in the evening.

I would have loved The Really Wild Show.

I think they overbook to guarantee a full house so they get a good atmosphere and for TV, so there's not visible empty seats.

It will be like most things that are free, people will apply for shows and not decide until later whether they're actually going to go.

Top of the Pops in 1983. Bauhaus performed ‘She’s in parties’. Was great.

Once attended a recording of a Jack Dee show. Was ok, but interminable because they had to take multiple takes of various jokes.

Quite possibly. I went in 2022.

I went to a recording of I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue at my local concert hall. It was great fun. We were all given kazoos, I still have mine. When the recording finished Jack Dee made a thing of tidying up, dropping scripts in a bin and hoovering the stage. Also been to a recording of Dead Ringers ( when it was a radio show).
