To ask for your help - losing voice/wedding tomorrow

It's my brother's wedding tomorrow! And he's asked me to do a reading. I've woken up this morning with a sore throat, hurts to swallow and starting to lose my voice. Please give me all your advice and remedies I don't want to lose my voice! Posting for traffic. Thank you

i lost my voice a lot, my best advice is do not speak. Make a drink from sliced root ginger, fresh lemon and honey with boiled water, suck plenty of Jakemans and hope for the best.

The main thing is don’t speak, at all, until the reading, but you should probably have a back up plan

I'd let him know you need a back up plan. As it'll be miserable not talking to anyone to 'save your voice'. Hot honey and lemon and strepsils.

@HappyMamma2023 if your throat is sore, Chloraseptic Anaesthetic throat spray is great, should be able to get from your local chemist.

Good luck with your reading.

Do not whisper. It puts greater strain on your vocal chords that regular speaking, even when you've lost your voice. So don't be tempted.

Honey and lemon obviously. Drink warm water, not cold. Rest rest and more rest.

Also hydrate your throat - steam! And drink lots of water. Agree with PP, no whispering.
