New BBC documentary tonight is on that U.K. stores are selling tomato paste made with forced labour. Tomato paste was sold as Italian but is actually Chinese made with forced labour. I try and make effort to shop better standard foods where I can for the kids meals if budget allows. AIBU that shops shouldn’t mislead us like this? How is it not breaking the law to sell food made with modern slavery, lying about where it is made !?

Not much shocks me but this has.
I dread to think what else is being covered up.
I wonder if it will escalate with other long life food products?

I know - why can’t we buy something just trusting the store is doing things right?

Just watched it. It'd be good if they also follow up on which chain restaurants and branded processed products use slave harvested tomatoes. Tomatoes are in such a huge range of products.
