To have no clue what to do???

pinkandblue34 · 30/11/2024 20:02

New poster. Need urgent advice as what to do. My DD has severe mental health problems and learning difficulties. She was under camhs and now under adults. I wasn't aware until earlier this year that DD maintained a relationship with her camhs worker and bought the camhs worker tickets and present as well as vice versa. When I found out I complained and sent in all the email trails as the ex camhs worker was using her work email to email DD. (I have attached some below it wouldn't let me attach more)I complained to nhs trust via pals. And they said they have told the worker not to do it again but she is still able to practice and work with vulnerable children?? Surely this is wrong. My dd is broken that the relationship has ended as believed this women was her friend. Is the anywhere else I can complain?

So this is dd psychotherapist?

Hankunamatata · 30/11/2024 20:07

Sorry was her psychotherapist

MumOfOneAllAlone · 30/11/2024 20:08

So this cahms worker has kept in touch with your dd? Is your dd 18 now?

Wow op, that's shocking unprofessionalism, I would've thought they would've had strict rules about this.

Tickets to the circus?? Do you live in a small town and do your lives intersect outside of the therapy?

Allthebestfood · 30/11/2024 20:09

The CAMHS worker's governing body, if she has one?

That's not been updated. She is senior now.

What has dd said?

I'd guess the therapist is quite young and found it hard to to withdraw support, but the 'missing you girlie' is weird and inappropriate so you're right to complain

The therapist is 57! DD not said much just that's she heartbroken by ending of what she deemed to be a friendship

Complain to UKCP, governing body for Psychotherapists....agree with removing your photos as she is identifiable.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 30/11/2024 20:15

It looks like your daughter has been emailing her and she has sent short responses.
It doesn't sound like she has been pursuing a friendship with your daughter.

Enko · 30/11/2024 20:15

They will have a governing body likely bacp or UKPC
The UKPC is the professional body for psychotherapy, while the BACP is the main register for counsellors: Make a complaint via the professional body. It is against BACPs ethical framework.

You need to take down the screenshots, you can read the woman's name.

She offered to take my daughter to the circus... and has been out on loads of occasions

Wow! No, she knows the rules then, I'd be concerned

The 'missing you girlie' is weird for me, and taking her to the circus?

Poor dd x

You may need to get a completely clear timeline though and all details of what's happened before you complain
