To think if this was a bug I would have been sick by now?

I started feeling sick around 10-11pm last night, woke up this morning and still feel a bit sick.

AIBU for thinking if this was food poisoning or a bug, that I would have been sick by now?

Not necessarily. I had similar a couple of years ago, felt really sick with no other symptoms for about 3 days but never vomited. I just took it as easy as I could with a 5 and 2 year old and it passed.

Agree with first poster. It's possible to have a stomach bug that doesn't make you vomit. It could make someone else sicker if they caught it though. IIRC, there are quite a few tummy bugs that make kids vomit but don't make adults vomit.

Not necessarily. I have had times when I have been unwell and felt very queasy for a couple of days until it all passed off, but didn't vomit (didn't eat much either, though).

I have exactly this right now too. Probably some sort of bug doing the rounds

I had this is at the weekend ! I literally felt terrible . Had to come out of cinema early. Felt really sick, hot, clammy. Lasted 24 hours and slept a lot then felt better. Was convinced I was going to be sick but wasn’t.

Definitely possible for a bug, or some dodgy food, to make you feel nauseated but not actually vomit.

If I had really bad "I think I'm going to be sick" nausea I would assume it was a bug unless I knew it was something else like pregnancy or motion sickness etc.

Probably is a bug. There are a large number of viruses that cause nausea without vomiting. If it persists for more than a week, or you start to experience dizziness as well, see your GP as it could be inner ear.
