To continue to get DLA whilst abroad?

Hi, posting here for traffic!

I get DLA on behalf of my son

I'm aware we can go abroad for 13 weeks and still get paid (or longer if due to medical treatment which isn't our case)

We want to go travelling for 6 months

What would happen after those 13 weeks, would DLA completely cancel our claim or would the payments just stop until we get back?

Our renewal isn't for a few years yet

Thanks Smile

You have to report a visit abroad that is over 4 weeks, dla is payable for 13 weeks and would then stop. The claim afaik would be closed as your child is no longer entitled to it.

Ahh ok. I thought they'd null the payment then it would start back up again when we returned if we was still within the award period. Thanks!
