I'm pretty sure I watched it with my kids when they were 4 or 5.

TotallyTwisted · 26/11/2024 18:43

It's not suitable for a 3 year old! Maybe 6 or 7.

DGPP · 26/11/2024 18:43

I’d say 7, there are some adult themes and language. Save it for when he’ll love it!

Mandylovescandy · 26/11/2024 18:44

Yes, pretty sure ours were about 4 when we first watched it and they loved it

TipsyKoala · 26/11/2024 19:29

If he’s sensitive he may be a bit scared of the idea of people breaking into houses, but in general I think he’ll love it. Although my DS took to calling everyone ‘filthy animals’ afterwards 😂

UpTheMagicChristmasTree · 26/11/2024 19:31

Any age is fine really, I'm normally really strict on things like this, but dd was about 4 when she first watched and loved it.

Mynewnameis · 26/11/2024 19:32

There are better films for a 3 year old. I think he'll be bored.

thingsineverthoughtidsay · 26/11/2024 19:33

My 3 year old loves it!!

coxesorangepippin · 26/11/2024 19:33

Totally suitable

He might find Danny DeVito scary/the thieves burgularing the house

coffeesaveslives · 26/11/2024 19:34

Depends on the 4 year old, but I know kids of that age who love it.

coxesorangepippin · 26/11/2024 19:34

Sorry - joe pesci

😂

user1474315215 · 26/11/2024 19:36

I think it depends on the children. My DGS has loved it since the age of 3/4, my DGD won't watch it at age 11!

LouH1981 · 26/11/2024 19:37

It’s tricky, my DS at that age was scared of burglars and it would probably have worried him. My DD is 4 and probably would find it funny but might not sit through the whole thing given the lack of princesses.
I guess it depends on his disposition. You know him best.

BaklavaRocks · 26/11/2024 19:38

It's not think there's anything unsuitable for a 4 yr old in it. However, mine found it very boring at that age....

TheCanterburyWails · 26/11/2024 19:38

DD watched it when she was 5, she loved it but was a bit freaked out by Harry and Marv.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 26/11/2024 19:40

I'm having this debate with myself. DS1 is 6, but is quite sensitive, we watched the muppets christmas Carol last year and he was scared. A huge shame as its one of my favourite christmas films and was looking forward to enjoying it with him!

Katy123g · 26/11/2024 19:41

TBH I think there are a lot of Xmas films that a 4 year old would like more than Home Alone. I echo another poster that he'll likely get bored

My DS were more like 7 before they were interested in Home Alone and not from a lack of trying on my part as I bloody love Home Alone!
