Nausea, frequent colds and coughs

Since April-ish I've been ill most weeks. Variety of symptoms- colds, usually a cough, sometimes nausea. Nothing specific (except for the cough) but enough for DH to question why I'm ill again. I can WFH so I have been. Most of the time it's not enough to keep me off work but by the time DH is home from work at least one night every week or two I just have to lie down.

I'm not sure if it warrents seeing the GP or even what I would say to them. Is this just being 45?
Not sure what my question is. I don't much like being ill though.

Go to the doctor

JWhipple · 25/11/2024 20:03

So if you weren't WFH you'd have to call in sick frequently?
It's not normal so see GP, get bloods checked as well.

You need to see a doctor - blood tests would probably be a good idea.

It's true. If i couldn't WFH I would be off sick a lot. But as I can I've only had 1 day off this year.
I've been to GP twice for when it got particularly bad. Once they gave me antibiotics and once told me my ears were blocked. One nurse prescribed naps.
I'll give them a ring tomorrow. I don't think they'll see me.

This sounds like me but I have two young kids so I know I’m just getting all their germs!

Pippa12 · 25/11/2024 20:50

Do you have night sweats, fevers and/or weight loss?

Avaricii · 26/11/2024 08:05

I have night sweats and I get feverish about 1 days a month. But no weight loss (sadly)

If you have a persistent cough it may well be worth a trip to the GP for a chest xray

Avaricii · 26/11/2024 13:59

Thanks
I think I know but I just get the feeling they won't see me as it's very vague.

Night sweats and repeated infections are both red flag symptoms that require a doctors visit.

Red flag for what?
I've managed to get an appointment for late January.
