My recycling bag keeps getting stolen on bin collection day. It is usually put out with the recycling bin, and bin men tend to put the bag into the bin so that both can be taken in again.
Recently, however, despite clear labelling with sharpie, my bag keeps getting stolen. I don't live in the kind of neighbourhood where you can ask people to take your bins in (dodgy area, lots of drugs being dealt nearby) - the one neighbour I do trust says his kept getting taken, too, and we both work similar hours, so are out first thing in the morning and come back early evenings.
The bags are quite sturdy and probably make good IKEA-like carrier bags, but honestly, no one needs to steal that many, surely? I'm sick and tired having to order a new bag every recycling collection day, and also a bit worried that I'm soon getting charged because of the sheer number of bags I've had to report stolen.
They cannot be locked, unlike bins, and the layout of where bins need to be taken to makes cameras impractical, so I'm not sure what I can do?
AIBU to just want to keep my recycling bags?
