Baby hitting his face, waking himself up

13 weeks, suddenly rolling side to side. I don't know what to do. We had to unswaddle (he loved the Love to Dream arms up swaddle) and we put him in a transition swaddle that has his hands free. He keeps hitting himself on the face and waking himself up! He's gone from sleeping 6-7 hour stretches to waking up every 2-3 hours. And obviously he then wants a feed too. It's been 2 weeks of this now. When do they grow out of it? Any safe alternatives to swaddling?

i also unswaddled and DS was hitting himself awake so i began gently placing my arm accross him until he stopped waving his arms around and fell asleep again. i did this everytime as i would naturally wake when he began shuffling around. i probably did that for a month or so before he stopped waving his arms around at 3 and half months

@EmraldSky yes, that's what I'm doing. But after doing that every 3 minutes for half an hour, after feeding him too, there's no way I'm going back to sleep at this point.
