Scared of bills rising

So just heard on the radio water bills going up next year as well as energy prices and they're taking away the single allowance for council tax. I'm struggling as it is so honestly don't know where I'm going to find this extra money. Anyone else worried.

Yes I'm worried about where it's leading out society. It seems clear we on a path for decline for a few years to come - our isolation in the world, our lack of resources as a country, the standard we have now is absolutely going to drop from what we have now.

I work in quite a deprived part of the city and already there's a class of people that take steps such as turning off the boiler, living with mould and cold showers - because it's just not something they can maintain, and these are working people! Healthcare is clearly going two tier - those who need NHS for non emergency but essential procedures will wait so long essentially they're not allowed it, with those who can pay getting the care we all used to get... I suppose it was a brief hayday in time where we all had these comforts as the norm and we are going to enter a new era where more have to do without, but the depression and anger that will result at the disparity between the haves and have nots is going to be significant. It'll drive a push to the right politically and the complete collapse of living standards that will bring.

It's too big a problem to dwell on though, very little to do on an individual level. I think all you can do is focus on the little things you can do to improve the life for those around you -multi generational housing to pool resources, making sure your children are guided into careers that are likely to continue well/routes for progression not going to be replaced by a computer algorithm....

I thought they said they weren’t removing the single person council tax discount?

Nobody has said the single person discount is going. You need to be more selective about the news sources you read.
