To spend my evenings on Mumsnet?

I work full time, mainly from home, go exercise and make dinner, we wash up, shower and just crash on the respective sofa at 9 pm. Too tired for hobbies. DH watches TV and I cast AIBU votes, with a cup of tea. Mon - Fri it’s like a Groundhog Day… Is that OK? Or can you find energy for more living life to the full?

What do you think we're all doingGrin

KeepinOn · 20/11/2024 21:32

I spend far too much time browsing here, but I'm not a big TV watcher so this is my screen watching instead I suppose.

I go out once a week for a yoga class but I also chat with my partner, dc, or friends in the evenings as well. It varies a bit, but by 9pm I'm knackered as well. Currently in bed about to start a new book. Decaf tea on the side, finally feeling cozy and warm after being chilled all day. Lovely.

I've spent every spare minute of my scroll time on here for months now, and definitely have more funny 'you'll never guess what happened on mumsnet' stories than I ever did 'guess what I saw on Instagram' ones from the days of yore 😂

In the old days it would have been flicking through a magazine ...OK magazine or Hello magazine. At least Mumsnet is real life stuff and genuinely helpful for the most part.

Yes, MN is how I unwind. It has just the right balance of interesting, boring, wild, and useful.

Graffigne · 20/11/2024 21:39

@Kaleidoscopic101 I got myself 3 months trial of VOGUE to ween myself off MN, but it was purgatory reading, I am not sophisticated enough but I have powered through all 3 issue. Just signed up for 3 months of RED, but honestly I am hooked here for life.

I voted you're not being unreasonable, but you probably are, just like me. 😂

tobee · 20/11/2024 21:46

I've been feeling stressed for the last few days and need a distraction, so here more than usual.

Plus I've been having a break from reading the news - since November 5th, and it's very useful to pick up news info through a filter. Plus the rest.

MumOfOneAllAlone · 20/11/2024 22:09

😄 op, I am addicted to letting people know whether they are being unreasonable or not

I've tried to ditch twitter and have deleted tiktok and this is my only vice

I'm on my own with dd so when she's down in bed, it's my time for a nosy 🥰

I've been reading White Teeth for ages but it just doesn't interest me the way mumsnet does 🤭
