Sick of being sick

I want to cry. We have had some sort of cold in the house since September. My little one was unwell for 2 weeks, then I was sick as a dog had fever for 7 days. I'm exhausted. Today is her birthday and she came down with fever just now so the cycle continues. And it's only November. How to survive the winter? Is it just me depressed of constantly coughing and being feverish? How do you deal with it?

I could have written this post myself. I had an operation 2 weeks ago, about 2-3 days later my DD had a stomach thing and was vomiting and then a day or 2 later I came down with what I’m pretty sure has been covid for the last week and a half and I’m still feeling rough now - I have sat and cried about it as pathetic as that probably sounds!

I have focused on what I can control though - going to bed earlier so well rested, nose sprays to completely clear it out a few times a day, eating healthily and keeping well hydrated (especially with coconut water etc rather than just plain water with no electrolytes etc in it for energy). I have also bought some clinell wipes from Amazon which are what the hospital use and they kill everything - even novovirus - and I’ve been wiping the house down with that to avoid other germs being passed on because I honestly can’t deal with anything else at the moment! X

How old is your little one OP?
My life was like this for the first winter after DS started school. It was horrendous. That was a couple of years ago and it greatly improved after that!

@Errors She is exactly 4 so yes, just started pre-school. When she started in September she didn't miss school for 4 weeks but didn't have a day with no snotty nose ... then she got quite unwell so missed quite a few days. Her sister is 10 and thankfully in that period has only caught this last virus that I got that is totally brutal. Interestingly, my husband skipped it ... I envy his immune system. 😂

@TheGrinch2024 thank you so much for the empathetic response and the useful tips! I am really sorry you are also going through a rough patch. I'm just hoping we catch a break for like a week before we resume with the snot or other bugs. 🤣 I think we also need to focus on healthy food and less junk and just try our best to boost our immune systems.
