Why are some patients so inconsiderate?

Currently in hospital waiting to have op in morning.
So far while trying to sleep I have a lady watching a video full volume, nurse asks her to turn it down, patient replies there is nothing else to do!
10.15pm another ladies phone starts ringing, not on silent and she's in no rush to answer. Proceeds to have loud conversation until I ask her to keep it down.
Other patients banging the bedside cabinet everything they need a tissue or something instead of, seemingly anyway, trying to be quiet.
None of us know what the others are dealing with so just be a bit considerate!
Myself and one lady have put earplugs and just desperately trying to get some sleep.
Just needed a rant from someone tired and in pain with a long night ahead 😴

So sorry OP, hospitals have become so full of entitled assholes. You get home feeling exhausted through lack of sleep. Hope your operation goes ok and you get home quickly.

If you have earphones with you then pink noise is your friend OP! I feel for you - nothing worse than being sleep deprived in hospital. I always come out feeling worse than I went in

Sounds like the typical hell of a hospital room! People are just so bad mannered in shared spaces. When I had DS I was admitted to postnatal ward and there was toddlers running through my curtain, one bloke helped himself to food and there was none left for me and so many loud devices. I discharged myself, went home and had a Chinese
