Right to buy

I don't know if this is the right subject to put under AIBU as it's my first post but are people aware that the right to buy your rented house policy is changing massively from 21/11/24 ?
It doesn't seem to have been publicised very much but the maximum discount from Thursday is changing from about £100,000 to £20000, five of my work colleagues have applied in the last week and I can't say I can blame them from doing so, apparently any applications received by the deadline date will still qualify under the old rules. After that it doesn't seem worthwhile.
Whether you agree with the policy or not it's worth giving anybody you know the heads up because as I said it doesn't seem to be getting much mainstream publicity.

YANBU, and I don't blame people for taking of advantage of what is offered. For some, it will be the only way to own a home. Good luck to them, I say.

Good luck to anyone applying before the deadline
