Not really an AIBU but posting here for traffic.
DS is 6 and I suspect ADHD. Over the last month or so his behaviour has become increasingly difficult to manage at home and has finally leaked over into school. His teacher let me know that he "lightly bit" a classmate when he grew frustrated and annoyed with him. To say I'm mortified is an understatement.
We've have countless chats about appropriate ways to deal with frustration/annoyance/anger/sadness but it doesn't seem to be making much difference. At home he really struggles with impulse control and self regulation, and little things often result in a big over reaction with screaming and shouting, hitting and kicking. This is the first time it has bled over into school though.
Obviously I want to help him and prevent him from ever hurting someone again. Can anyone recommend resources and advice on how to help him with the emotional regulation? Anything that can help me and him get a handle on this quickly would be really helpful.
