We've been house hunting for months. Two sales have fallen through after we've had offers accepted - one pretty far down the line. A few perfect houses that went under offer within days, despite us booking to see them (viewings were just cancelled). It feels like my heart has been broken so many times because I can't help getting invested each and every time. Our buyer is on the verge of pulling out leaving us having to put our house on the market again, pushing back our house purchase even further. Am I wrong in thinking that an offer should be legally binding and not just a placeholder until they get a better offer? It's just shit. It seems like a fluke that anyone actually moves house at all.
