I have a household appliance which is dying and have referred the credit card company to section 75. I really need it urgently.

how long are they likely to take to investigate?

It says it should be completed in eight weeks and then you can still go to financial ombudsman if it has been rejected. That is aster you have tried to do it amicably with the manufacturer. You have 120 days to file the Section 75 from purchasing the item.

As above you need to have tried to resolve with the company you bought it from first before raising a section 75 claim. You can raise a claim with your bank/lender if the supplier has breached their contract with you or have misrepresented the item to you.

The cost of the item must be over £100 but less than £30k however, you don't need to have paid the full balance of it on the cc.

If there's a 3rd party involved for example eBay, you cannot claim via section 75.

The 120 days mentioned above i believe is in relation to a chargeback not a section 75 claim.

If your claim is declined you would first need to raise a complaint and get a final response letter from the bank/lender before going to the ombudsman.

What exactly is it that's happened to the item in question?
