Poor sleep and nursery

Hi,

My LO is a DREADFUL sleeper. We have had comments on a few occasions from nursery now about it and how she is the first one up etc.

I have recently found that that after she wakes up, she is being encouraged to lie there until the others are up and the sleep window is over. Sometimes this can be almost an hour. She js so energetic and this is not in her nature at all. I actually feel so sad that she is just made to lie there. Surely they can give her some activities to do quietly in the corner or something?

Has anyone else experienced this? I have asked they given her something to do rather than making her lie there, but doesn't seem right at all.

No advice but that sounds rubbish! They can't take her outside or to the book corner or something?

Possibly not due to ratios. They can’t take one member of staff to be 1-2-1 and leave the sleep area below ratios.

Ratios are probably the issue. I don't really see the problem personally. She's being encouraged to relax if she can't sleep. It's not a terrible skill to learn.

Oh - ratios. PPs are absolutely right. Sorry for my unhelpful contribution...
