My husband has a habit of rinsing off his muddy boots in the bath, leaving me the lovely job of cleaning bits of mud and grass out of the plug hole. While that’s not a pleasant job, what worries me more is that I don’t know how much mud is going down the plug hole and potentially blocking up the pipe that drains water from the bath (which is another problem I would be left to deal with!)
I have repeatedly asked my husband not to rinse his boots in the bath, and explained why, but he still does it. I found another load of mud and grass in the plug hole again yesterday, so I calmly said, “You’ve rinsed your muddy boots in the bath again, haven’t you? Can you please stop doing that, it’s not pleasant for me to have to clean muck out of the plug hole, and I’m worried the mud will build up in the pipe and block the drain.” Since then, he’s gone into a sulk, and has barely spoken to me.
Am I being unreasonable?
