Cover or uncover yawn?

Wanting to know if AIBU in getting annoyed when DH yawns with his mouth wide open without covering it with his hand?

i was brought up to think this is rude, whilst DH doesn’t think it’s rude.

I’ve told him that it really bugs me when he does this out in public, especially now our kids seem to think it’s ok to copy this, as he does it.

So AIBU or is he for not even attempting to stop this, despite knowing that it greatly annoys me?

Cover. No one wants to see your uvula at close quarters mid-conversation.

Yes he should cover his mouth when yawning, it's just good manners!

Couldn't have put it better myself. Very rude indeed. I would duck out of any conversation with a person that did this.

I consider it extremely bad manners to yawn without covering your mouth but increasingly notice people doing it. I do wonder whether Covid has played a role in this and people now "forget" that the mask is no longer there and they need to actively cover their mouth.

Definitely cover.

It's a reflex for me, I'm not sure I could enjoy a good yawn without covering my mouth!

But I'm guessing that's because I was brought up to cover my mouth.

Heck, this made me yawn 🤣. Cover unless you're at home and no one is looking (or your scrolling MN 😳)

The reason we cover is because often the yawn triggers saliva to squirt out and this can jet out of the mouth! So, so gross.

I imagine he's not hot on manners. Manners are mainly about consideration for others.
