STI.. do I tell new partner

I was seeing a man for a while and insisted he get an sti test. It transpired that he had several warts and herpes.I didn't pursue that primarily because he had then recently ended a long term
Relationship and refused to tell his ex partner.
He is in a new relationship of nearly a year.. a lovely lady but I expect she has no idea, based on his previous attitude to being open about his sti's.
Do I tell her ?
It's no skin off my nose but as a woman, I would definitely want to be told.
I have no interest in him whatsoever so my thoughts are not in any way intended to cause trouble or any such thing.
Would it be unfair and unreasonable?
WWYD?

Stay out of it.

Catapultaway · 09/11/2024 21:06

It's nothing to do with you and over a year later? Stay out of it, you sound overly invested in a man you only briefly considered dating

gamerchick · 09/11/2024 21:07

Bit of a stable door thing now like OP. If it was brand new I might.

batsandeggs · 09/11/2024 21:07

No, because you have absolutely no idea whatsoever what private conversations they’ve had. Really weird to be honest.

ColaCar · 09/11/2024 21:10

It’s odd you are even thinking about this tbh.

As far as I’m aware you don’t have to tell anyone if you have had herpes or warts.
If neither are active at the time then they can’t be passed on and warts normally go away after a period of time.

posvibes · 09/11/2024 21:11

Thanks. I really wasn't sure what the right thing to do was. I was basing it on my own preference to be told!
I will let it go. It's not my business of course.

Crazy to get involved but I do see why you feel she needs to know … but you are not the person op to say it and it’s too late now anyway

LBFseBrom · 09/11/2024 21:15

It's nothing to do with you. Presumably you didn't catch warts or herpes from him, why should his new lady?

Stay out of it.

TheWittyBird · 09/11/2024 21:16

I would stay out of it BUT at same time I would tell him if he doesn't tell her you will , and I'm sorry if some folks are huffed about it but I would .

posvibes · 09/11/2024 21:16

I didn't sleep with him. I was waiting for results and then when he refused to tell his ex partner, I finished with him.

Nah, I'd stay out of that.

I’d be very very upset if I hadn’t been told!

i would leave a partner for not telling me before exposure especially as these are incurable diseases once you have contracted them.

but

i don’t think I’d have the right to tell a stranger another person’s private medical information. So as strongly as I might want to I wouldn’t I don’t think.

secretly I’d hope you would tell me though 😳

stargazerlil · 09/11/2024 21:56

No you can’t go telling someone that.

Changingplace · 09/11/2024 21:58

No, if his new partner wants to know this information it’s a conversation between them, this is none of your business keep out of it.

toomuchfaff · 10/11/2024 15:52

Why are you concerned about the life of an Ex nearly a year after you walked away? That's the question you should be asking yourself

posvibes · 10/11/2024 16:56

I'm not concerned about him. My concern is for her and her sexual health. I've nothing but disrespect for him.

If anything, I'd do it anonymously so it can't be construed as anything other than concern for health.
