'You look tired'

AIBU or is 'you look tired' just another way of saying 'you look like shit'?
I've actually made an effort with myself today, done my hair and make up and just got the comment 'you look tired' and now I feel like shit 🙈 also I'm not even that tired!!

No YANBU. This really really annoys me! I wear make up/foundation/under eye lightener every day but clearly none of it works! 😂I must just have naturally dark under eye skin colour...

My SIL said this a few times to me over the years and I got so fed up of it in the end, I snapped back 'thanks, so you're saying I look like shit then?' She apologised and whenever I see her now, we joke 'you look like shit love; you ok?' 😂

It does make me cross when people say it though. I would never dream of commenting about a persons appearance personally but there are (a lot!) of people who think it's perfectly acceptable to say 'you look tired shit'. 🙄

It's really fucking rude! Customers (usually men over 50) always said this to me when I worked on the till in sainsburys

My MIL has mega form for this.

It's always on the days I think I don't look too bad as well!!
