How high can one go after hitting rock bottom?

For those who’ve faced really challenging moments - whether financially, emotionally, or otherwise - how much have things turned around for you? Do you feel like hitting rock bottom changed your perspective on success or happiness? I could really do with hearing some stories from anyone who’s managed to build themselves back up and what that journey looked like. How high is it really possible to go?

I had a huge breakdown in 2017. Was suicidal with several plans to end my life. 7 years later I’m completely different. I work full time, my mental health is stable. I won’t say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been but life is definitely good. I really enjoy my job, my family and my hobbies

I went from street homeless at 18 to decent career, marriage and two kids ten years later, and a degree and new better career within the next ten.

The kindness of other people, a decent social safety net (free evening classes, job training programmes, university grants) and pure bloody/mindedness were probably they key factors.

I think everyone’s circumstances are different, so not sure how much use advice is, but just in case, mine would be never be afraid to ask for help.
