My child goes to a village school with children of mixed abilities. My concern is that the school seems to be behind most schools and appears to make unusual decisions e.g. decided to teach cursive letters in reception, once questioned they changed their mind (not recommended so early). Now I've noticed the ditty sheets they're using are from 2006 and contain no red words. The new ones are the ones the majority of schools seem to use and seem to be available online freely. Having seen recent performance data as well I'm now concerned about whether I made the right decision.
