I agree. They’ve been going on since 5pm here, both official and unofficial displays, and I think it has been the largest amount of fireworks here for some years. I’ve certainly noticed there haven’t been so many random ones going off for the last few weeks like previous years so I’m assuming people have saved them for actual Guy Fawkes night.

Couldn’t post on the thread with almost exactly the same title further down?

Think in Engalnd you can legally set them off until 11pm . Later on special events/dates.

It's the first time for a while that Diwali has coincided. That's one reason.

Same here been going off for weeks every night, still going off now too, why?!

At least this year I don’t have poor shaking, terrified DDog, panting and spaced out on sedatives to deal with since she died in the Summer, the cats just give the odd look every now and again.

I feel so sorry for wild animals though, we live right next to a country park with a sizeable deer population including lots of fawns born this Spring, this is the venue for a huge display each year. I often think how terrified the deer and other animals must be and if any of them run onto the motorway adjacent to the park. So sad.

I thought that was last week? I don’t think we have a large Hindu population in this area although I know Indian friends go all out for celebrating 🎆🎇🥳

Well it is actually Bonfire Night tonight so I wouldn't be wondering. If it were tomorrow I might.
