Disclaimer: I am very grateful to be paying lower than market share rents and to have a secure roof over our heads.

We've been here about a year and the noise is unbareable. The amount of complaints and calls to the police I feel like a complete nag but I don't know what else to do. Every single night we hear banging, running around, kids running around (which is OK)but we hear this well into the early hours of the morning. This is every night and during the day when we are home. I we fancy an early night or just to chill and read it's not possible. I have been in touch with the builders who said the building has passed the sound test. End of that. If this was now and again but it's like constant "thud thud" and I feel like I'm going crazy! I could scream.

A couple of times a week we hear serious domestic fights which involve physical voilence, are woken up at 3 am to drunk people listening to really loud music in our car park, dogs being left to bark for hours into the nights. Most times we have called the police (not on the dog). But these are all hours long occurences and the police aren't very quick. I've also had packages stolen.

I want to take it further to get moved but I don't really know how to go about it.

A work colleague friend of mine was in a HA flat and bothered with noise like this. She got a letter from her GP to say the situation was adversely affecting her mental health and the HA found her a different flat. I don't know if this would help you but worth a try. My friend had been treated for cancer so I would imagine that would make it even more important that she was settled.

I would keep moving and moving until I find what I need

I would have to move. I could never live in a flat again though. I always found the noise horrendous.

How do you do that? I thought you needed to wait a year and then if you're lucky swap with someone

Keep reporting them to the housing association and pray they get evicted for antisocial behaviour.
