I'm waiting to start a job through a agency and was messed about on my start day with a message coming on the day from the agency when I was already up and ready to go saying don't attend today dates been deferred.
I then waited several days with no update and thought job had fallen through and needed a wage so I seeked employment elsewhere but I really wanted the other job as bigger company better pay etc and twice now the agency have called me to start immediately same day the calls have arrived around 9.15am to start that same day but I've missed thier call due to been at work. This resulted in them starting somebody else instead as apparently the company are recruiting a few people and don't want too many starting at once.
Aibu to want a little more notice at least by 5pm day before.

I think I would call the company and bypass the agency, explain the situation, say how keen you are to work there but the agency isn’t giving you any notice and you wouldn't want it to look unfavourably on you.

I've been tempted so many times to do that but not sure it's a good idea

Not sure if if the company also at fault for not giving the agency enough notice

It may well be but by speaking to someone you can show you are proactive, have a good attitude and want to work there, at the moment you are a faceless nobody so they aren’t giving any consideration to your circumstances. I really think a personal touch will help, just be really polite, cheerful and professional.
