To think this isn't proof of delivery?

I'm trying to get the seller to chase this up with Royal Mail for a refund.

But in the meantime I'm absolutely flummoxed as to what could have happened to it. It was only a book, so potentially could have gone through the letter box, but also not worth nicking. There was no card- my neighbours might have taken it in if they'd been asked to. It's not at the sorting office. It was 48 hour tracked. I was at home, although doorbell wasn't working and there was no knock. I'd only just moved in, hence not having gotten round to sellotaping the doorbell up at that point. I'm away from the road, so unlikely been nicked, but surely they would have taken a photo of the parcel if it was on the floor? There's no safe space as it's a terrace with no front garden, just a communal car park.

They wouldn’t have taken a photo of your door if they hadn’t been there though so they must have ‘delivered’ it (i.E thrown it on the doorstep). Maybe the seller used lots of packaging so it wouldn’t fit through the letterbox?

If that's your door, they got that far. It's unlikely it was left in the van at that point, so, I'd say yes, it's been delivered.

consumer rights say if i didn't agree to a safe place and it was left on the doorstep and stolen (lucky thief who got my second hand jacqueline wilson book), then it hasn't been delivered and the seller is liable to chase up a refund with the delivery service. there isn't even evidence that the postie even left it on the floor.

Does the image of the door look like it's come from google?

ie did they not bother trying and just took a photo of your door zoomed in on a laptop - from the comfort of their home that they didn't leave?!
