To think that my neighbours are inconsiderate

For buying another 4x4?

It’s so big that they can’t even fit it in their own driveway alongside their other (equally massive) car, and therefore they have taken to blocking the curb outside the house every single day and night. It’s a very busy through street with loads of pedestrians so prams and wheelchairs are being forced to take to the road.

I suppose I would be slightly less angered by it if they truly needed another 4x4, but they definitely do not. It’s just the two of them and a very young baby, no dogs etc and both of their commutes are easy - straight into the city centre. We live in the suburbs on a main arterial route - no need for offroading etc here! It’s a vanity decision more than anything to have two Range Rovers on the drive! Environmentally, space and practicality wise it makes no sense.

For context: I have absolutely nothing against big cars if they are necessary for your lifestyle and you have the space for them

People are selfish 🤷‍♀️

shellyleppard · 02/11/2024 20:28

If they persist in blocking the pavement I would call the police. Its a offence to do this

CharlotteStreetW1 · 02/11/2024 20:30

The width of cars now is obscene and Range Rovers in particular are ridiculous.

ZippyPeer · 02/11/2024 20:30

Do you mean that they are parking on the pavement? If so, that is illegal and I would 100% report them (pavement parking really annoys me - so inconsiderate)

Yes - on the pavement. Worried that if I report them they’ll somehow take it out on me! They’re quite hostile and unpleasant people if I’m perfectly honest - notorious on our street.

YANBU. And nobody needs a 4x4 unless they live on a farm..

Hadalifeonce · 02/11/2024 20:38

If they are forcing pedestrians to walk in the road, anyone could have reported them. They would only need to report the registration number and the road to the police.

Unfortunately parking on the pavement isn't necessarily illegal. It depends where you live.

It’s only illegal in London I believe.

That’s my understanding as well.
